Hand carved standing Buddha, painted with gold leaf.

The making of these gold leaf Buddhas is a long and intricate process. First the Buddha has to be hand carved from wood. Next a priming paint is added to give the gold leaf something to adhere to. Then the gold leaf is hand painted on to the Buddha. After that the small coloured decorations are added.
