Wooden Komodo dragon 13 inches. £24.
A carved wooden image of the last land living reminder of the time reptiles not mammals ruled the world. The descendent of dinosaur kings it is not hard to imagine the roman emperor Tiberius exclaiming that he would never again doubt the old stories about monsters when the first Komodo dragon was shipped to Rome. The komodo dragon IS a mini monster, a dragon clipped of its' wings, a mythical beast made flesh. Though less than life size this Komodo dragon carving captures something of the scale and exoticism of this giant lizard.
Carved in Indonesia where this giant lizard or minature dinosaur still lives.

Comodo dragon would be an incorrect spelling. So would camodo or kamodo dragon. Personally I prefer to spell it Komondo dragon, being a portmanteau of the latin based words, mondo meaning world and Ko meaning codgeswallop.
