Parasite wood is so called because it seeds itself onto other trees, it is a parasite the same as holly is a parasite. Parasite wood is a light wood made particularly distinct due to the contrast between its' smooth white surface and the mushroom like texture of the parasite woods underside. These masks are carved into the naturally occurring shape of the parasite wood taking advantage of it's rustic shaping and contours. The result is that every carved mask is unique, a brilliant mixture of the craft mans carving technique and natures infinite subtlety of design. Delightfully humourous, anyone who likes rustic or driftwood style masks will love these parasite wood faces.
